Dr. Vivek Indramohan is a Biomedical Engineer and academic by professional background, currently working within the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust as a Professional and Technical Workforce Development Manager in Clinical Engineering. Drawing upon extensive experience across higher education, healthcare, and workforce development, he has led and supported a wide range of professional learning, technical capability, and organisational development initiatives aligned to healthcare service improvement and workforce transformation.
Previously, as an Associate Professor and Course Director of Biomedical Engineering, Vivek oversaw the operational management and academic quality of both undergraduate and postgraduate Biomedical Engineering provision within the faculty. He is a designated professional member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM), and has contributed to several technical publications alongside various Education Commissioning for Quality (ECQ) funded pedagogical and scholarly research activities. His work has particularly focused on engaging undergraduate and postgraduate students as co-researchers, mentors, and partners in the design of effective learning and teaching interventions.
Across his professional career, Vivek has maintained strong partnership working with colleagues across the healthcare, engineering, and education sectors throughout the West Midlands region. He has successfully facilitated collaborative initiatives involving workforce development, technical training, student employability, and industry engagement, including the coordination of industry-based technical dissertation projects and placements for students from life sciences and engineering backgrounds.
Vivek was previously a member of the British Commonwealth Association (BCA), where he supported the work of the Education Subgroup and contributed to wider engagement activities linked to the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce. With a strong interest in transnational education and international collaboration, Vivek has also undertaken academic advisory responsibilities supporting collaborative STEM programmes delivered in partnership with international higher education providers in South East Asian countries.
